HS-5061 capabilities

• The HS-5061 collects wastewater from a compatible ice maker and moves it through a dedicated discharge hose to an approved drain.
• Hoshizaki permits a maximum discharge-hose length of 20 feet and a maximum vertical lift of 8 feet.
• The kit includes the pump, a 10-foot discharge hose, vent tubing, model-dependent drain hoses, clamps, hose clips, and mounting hardware.
• An internal safety switch stops ice production if the pump reservoir fills to capacity. The pump continues running, and the ice maker restarts after the water returns to a normal level.
• The assembly uses the drain-pump connector inside the compatible ice maker, so it doesn’t require a separate wall outlet.

Installation limits

• Use gravity drainage when the machine instructions and site layout support it. Add the HS-5061 only when the exact model is compatible and the drain route requires pumped discharge.
• Keep the complete discharge-hose run within 20 feet and the vertical lift within 8 feet. Traps, kinks, sharp bends, and debris can restrict flow.
• For discharge into a floor drain, Hoshizaki specifies a minimum 2-inch air gap between the hose outlet and the drain.
• Connections to an existing drainpipe must follow national, state, and local plumbing codes. An additional air-gap device may be required and isn’t included with the kit.
• Keep the vent hose open, secured to the ice maker, and free of kinks. A partially blocked vent can prevent correct pump operation and contribute to water damage.
• Install the pump level, and keep copper tubing or other machine components from contacting the pump or hoses.
• Leave enough discharge tubing to pull the ice maker forward for service without stretching, pinching, or damaging the connections.
• Have a qualified service technician install and test the assembly. Some locations may also require a plumbing permit or licensed plumber.
