Stop sediment before it loads your primary filter.
The Everpure E Series water filter EV979580 is a commercial prefilter that captures larger dirt and rust particles before they reach a downstream primary cartridge. The complete E-10 system includes one EC110 cartridge with sediment reduction to 10 microns, helping foodservice operations manage sediment while supporting service flow up to 4.0 gallons per minute.
Order through IceMachinesPlus with free standard curbside shipping within the 48 contiguous United States and our 30-Day Price Match Guarantee. For help confirming flow, plumbing connections, mounting space, or downstream-filter requirements, call 1-877-900-4423 before checkout.
The EV979580 is most valuable in high-sediment locations where dirt and rust can load a more specialized primary cartridge too quickly. Placing this prefilter upstream gives those larger particles a dedicated first stop and provides a replaceable sediment stage ahead of ice machines, beverage equipment, coffee systems, and other compatible foodservice applications.

|---|---|
| Purpose | This is a sediment prefilter intended for installation before a downstream primary filtration system. |
| Treatment | The included EC110 cartridge reduces larger dirt and rust particles and provides sediment reduction to 10 microns. |
| Flow | Maximum service flow is 4.0 GPM. Confirm that this supports the connected equipment’s peak demand. |
| Pressure | Incoming non-shock water pressure must remain between 10 and 125 PSI. |
| Temperature | Incoming water must remain between 35°F and 100°F. |
| Plumbing | The inlet and outlet use 3/4-inch FNPT connections. Optional reducer bushings are included. |
| Clearance | Install the housing vertically with the bowl hanging down and preserve at least 2 1/2 inches beneath it for cartridge replacement. |
| Cartridge | The specified replacement is the Everpure EC110, part number EV9534-12. |
| Size | The complete system measures 12.44 inches high, 5.16 inches wide, and 5.5 inches deep. |
| Weight | Pentair lists a six-pound operating weight and a four-pound shipping weight. |
| Power | No electrical connection is required. |
Use the prefilter to protect the downstream treatment stage.
Primary cartridges often handle more specialized treatment than a coarse sediment prefilter. Allowing visible dirt, rust, and other larger particles to reach those cartridges can restrict flow and consume their available sediment-holding ability earlier than expected.
The Everpure EV979580 intercepts that sediment in a separate, replaceable cartridge before it reaches the primary filter. The separate prefilter stage allows the EC110 to be serviced on its own schedule. The downstream primary cartridge must still be replaced according to its documented time, capacity, pressure, or flow limits.
Actual cartridge life depends on sediment levels, water use, pressure, and the complete filtration configuration. A prefilter can help prevent larger particles from reaching the primary cartridge, but it can’t correct an undersized system or unsuitable downstream treatment.
The system’s available flow must support every connected appliance drawing water through it. Add the realistic simultaneous demand from ice makers, coffee equipment, beverage dispensers, and other connected equipment rather than sizing around a single appliance in isolation.
Understand what the E-10 doesn’t treat.
The Everpure E-Series water filter is a sediment prefilter, not a complete purification system. Pentair documents reduction of larger dirt and rust particles and sediment to 10 microns. The included EC110 cartridge doesn’t carry documented claims for chlorine taste and odor reduction, cyst reduction, chloramine reduction, water softening, reverse osmosis, microbial disinfection, or dedicated scale inhibition.
If the incoming water contains chlorine, hardness minerals, dissolved solids, microorganisms, or other specific concerns, the downstream system must include treatment designed and documented for those conditions. Start with current water-quality information and the requirements of the connected equipment.
Don’t use this system with microbiologically unsafe water or water of unknown quality without adequate disinfection before or after the filtration system. A clearer-looking water supply isn’t proof that the water is microbiologically safe.
For ice-machine installations, our commercial ice-machine water filtration guide explains why sediment treatment, chlorine reduction, and scale management may require different cartridge technologies.
Plan the installation around service access.
Mount the E-10 vertically with the bowl pointing down. The mounting surface must support the system’s full six-pound operating weight, and the housing needs at least 2 1/2 inches of open space below it so the bowl and cartridge can be removed during service.
Confirm the 3/4-inch FNPT inlet and outlet arrangement before installation. Optional reducer bushings are included, but reducers don’t eliminate the need to verify pipe size, available flow, pressure loss, local plumbing requirements, and the demands of the downstream equipment.
Keep the installation within the published 10-to-125-PSI non-shock pressure range and 35°F-to-100°F water-temperature range. Water hammer, freezing conditions, unsupported plumbing, or installation outside Pentair’s limits can damage the system or compromise performance.
A qualified installer should follow the current Pentair E-10 specification sheet, local plumbing requirements, and the installation instructions for the downstream filtration and connected equipment.
Plan cartridge replacement before flow declines.
The specified replacement for the EV979580 is the Everpure EV953412 EC110 prefilter cartridge. Record that part number when the system is installed so staff don’t substitute a cartridge based only on its apparent size.
Pentair recommends replacing the cartridge on a scheduled six-month program, earlier when water pressure or flow to the equipment becomes inadequate, and at least once per year. High sediment levels may require a shorter interval.
The current specification sheet doesn’t publish a gallon-capacity rating for the EC110 in this system. Don’t create a replacement schedule from an unsupported gallon estimate. Use Pentair’s time and performance guidance, document each cartridge change, and investigate unusually rapid flow loss instead of repeatedly installing cartridges without addressing the incoming water conditions.
During replacement, follow Pentair’s current procedure for shutting off the water, relieving pressure, removing the bowl, and returning the system to service. Inspect the O-ring, lubricate it properly as directed, and replace damaged sealing components. Replace a spent EC110 cartridge instead of attempting to wash or regenerate it. Don’t introduce unapproved cleaning chemicals into the housing or water line.
