Restore the filtration your compatible Manitowoc ice machine was designed to use.
The Manitowoc K00374001 AR-2800 replacement filter, also identified as K00374 in manufacturer documentation, renews the built-in water treatment in compatible compact Manitowoc ice machines. It filters sediment, reduces chlorine-related taste and odor, and provides scale inhibition to support water flow, ice quality, and routine equipment care.
Order through IceMachinesPlus with qualifying free shipping and the 30-Day Price Match Guarantee. Before checkout, match the complete machine model and AR-2800 cartridge designation. For compatibility help, call 1-877-900-4423.
The AR-2800 is a replacement-cartridge format. It doesn’t include an external filtration system, separate filter head, ice machine, cleaner, sanitizer, or descaler.
| Check | What to confirm |
|---|---|
| Identity | Manufacturer documentation uses the AR-2800 designation and the K00374 or K00374001 identifiers. |
| Fit | Confirm the complete machine model. Manitowoc documents compatible SM-50/SMS50A, UCP0050A, and USE0050A applications. |
| Treatment | Filters sediment, reduces chlorine-related taste and odor, and provides scale inhibition. |
| Interval | Manitowoc gives the filter an expected six-month service life during normal use. Replace it sooner if water flow becomes restricted. |
| Signal | Compatible models equipped with a filter indicator monitor water use and signal when replacement is due. |
| Change | The documented UCP0050A filter head provides an internal shutoff and a quarter-turn cartridge connection. |
| Flush | The UCP0050A procedure requires a three-minute fill cycle, a restart, and a filter-counter reset after installation. |
| Limits | A new cartridge helps inhibit future scale formation. It doesn’t remove existing scale or replace prescribed descaling and sanitizing. |
Confirm the complete machine model before ordering.
Manitowoc documentation uses both K00374 and K00374001 for the AR-2800 replacement cartridge. Machine names also vary across product generations, including SM-50, SMS50A, UCP0050A, and USE0050A references.
Use the label on the installed machine and its current manual as the controlling references. Match the complete machine model, AR-2800 designation, and manufacturer part number instead of ordering by appearance or an abbreviated number alone.
Replace the cartridge before restricted flow affects operation.
Manitowoc lists an expected six-month filter life during normal use. Water quality, sediment load, and usage can shorten that interval. Replace the cartridge at six months, when an equipped machine displays its filter-replacement signal, or earlier if a confirmed restriction reduces water flow.
Shallow ice, incomplete cubes, or reduced production can have several causes. A loaded filter is one possibility, but incoming-water pressure, water temperature, scale, cleaning condition, and component faults should also be checked. A new cartridge won’t correct an unrelated refrigeration, drainage, or water-supply problem.
Follow the procedure for the exact machine.
On the documented UCP0050A system, turning the cartridge approximately one-quarter turn to the left closes the filter head’s inlet and outlet and relieves water pressure. This allows routine removal without shutting off the building’s incoming water supply.
Remove the used cartridge, inspect the replacement and sealing surfaces for damage, insert the new cartridge fully, and turn it one-quarter turn to the right until it stops. Check the connection for leaks before returning the machine to normal operation.
The UCP0050A procedure then calls for a three-minute fill cycle to flush the filter. After flushing, power the machine off and restart it to begin a new fill and ice-making sequence. Hold the Clean button for six seconds to reset the filter counter and turn off the replacement light. Procedures can differ by model or revision, so follow the current Manitowoc manual for the installed machine.
Keep filtration and machine cleaning on separate schedules.
The AR-2800 helps manage incoming sediment, chlorine-related taste and odor, and scale formation. It doesn’t dissolve scale already inside the machine, sanitize food-zone components, or clean the evaporator, water system, or storage bin.
Continue following the machine’s prescribed descaling and sanitizing schedule after installing a new cartridge. If scale returns quickly or filter life is unusually short, have the incoming water tested and confirm that its pressure, temperature, and treatment meet the machine’s requirements.
Our commercial ice-machine water filtration and cleaning guide explains how filtration, descaling, and sanitizing work together.
Manitowoc K00374 FAQs
When the installed machine specifies AR-2800, K00374, or K00374001, this replacement restores the filtration functions intended for that compatible system. Browse additional Manitowoc ice-machine water filters if the machine uses another cartridge. For help confirming the exact replacement before ordering, call 1-877-900-4423.
