During normal operation:
- The Ice-O-Matic nugget ice machine should begin producing Pearl Ice® in about 10 minutes. An empty bin takes about six to seven hours to fill.
- Ice may fall irregularly, and occasional water droplets are normal.
- An ultrasonic sensor stops production at the preset level and restarts it as ice is removed or melts.
- Some meltage is normal because the bin is insulated, not refrigerated.
- Keep the bin for ice only. Bottles, food, and loose labels can contaminate the ice or block the drain.

Our other branded 3 year old ice machine didn’t last a month before it started having problems. We have a second Ice o matic it has been awesome, Having the pump kit inside the ice machine is great versus having an external one. A couple days in, the maker is quiet and produces ice well. Much quieter than other other residential models (e.g., Euhomy). Setup is straight forward, but removal of the plastic wrap was an unexpected time suck before use. It is virtually impossible to remove the plastic wrap without disassembling most of the panels. Wrap removal was such a process--multiple hours--that I can only give four stars.
