A Scotsman ice and water dispenser can provide chewable nugget ice and water from one compact countertop unit, or pair a larger dispenser with a compatible modular ice machine. The key is knowing which format you’re buying: HID207 models make ice, while IOD models only store and dispense ice made by a separate machine.

HID207ABX-1

- Both HID207 models produce Original Chewable Nugget Ice®, dispense water, and store approximately 7 pounds of ice.
- Published HID207 production is up to 196 pounds per 24 hours at 70°F air and 50°F water, or 160 pounds at 90°F air and 70°F water. Use the warmer-condition rating for more conservative demand planning.
- HID207 features include an internal UV-LED module that treats incoming water, AgION® antimicrobial protection molded into key components, SmoothStream™ water dispensing, and removable components for cleaning.
- IOD150, IOD200, and IOD250 dispensers hold up to 150, 200, and 250 pounds of ice, respectively. They don’t produce ice and require a compatible modular machine mounted above.
- Standard IOD models dispense ice only. Models carrying the WF suffix include a factory-installed water-fill lever.
- IOD dispensers work with approved Scotsman modular cube or nugget machines. Compatible machine widths, bin-top kits, and adapter requirements vary by dispenser.

- Start with the equipment format. An HID207 makes, stores, and dispenses ice, while an IOD stores and dispenses ice produced by a separate modular machine.
- Confirm the dispensing configuration. HID207 models dispense ice and water, IOD-WF models provide ice plus a water-fill lever, and standard IOD models dispense ice only.
- Match the complete IOD model number to an approved modular ice machine and required bin-top kit. Matching equipment widths alone doesn’t establish compatibility.
- Size production and storage separately. The HID207 stores about 7 pounds, while IOD models hold up to 150, 200, or 250 pounds. An IOD system’s daily production depends entirely on the mounted ice machine.
- Use the HID207 warm-condition rating of 160 pounds per 24 hours when planning for locations with higher air and incoming-water temperatures.
- Confirm the installed width, depth, height, service access, and operating weight. Verify that the counter or stand can support the complete equipment package when loaded with ice.
- Provide the specified potable-water connection, drain, electrical circuit, ventilation, and clearances. The HID207 requires a dedicated 115V, 15-amp circuit and a NEMA 5-15 connection.
- For HID207 installations, preserve at least 6 inches at each side and the rear. Allow 2 inches above the unit, plus the additional overhead access specified when auger removal is required.
- Keep the HID207AX-1 away from direct sunlight and nearby infrared emitters that could interfere with its sensors. Transparent cups may not activate touch-free dispensing reliably.
- Match water filtration to the machine’s flow requirements and the site’s water conditions. Filtration can reduce sediment, unwanted tastes and odors, and some scale concerns, but it doesn’t replace cleaning or sanitizing.
- Follow the current ice machine and dispenser manuals for installation, cleaning, sanitizing, approved chemicals, and service procedures.
